Obstetrics and Gynecology Department
About Us
The department of obstetrics and gynecology is represented by over 5 faculty members with different subspecialties and fellowships located at KAUMS which is recognized for excellence in clinical care, education, and research. Physicians and staffs also have residency training program as well as training medical students. As part of the undergraduate medical education program, the mandate of the rotation is to provide students with clinical exposure to the discipline of obstetrics and gynecology. The department also has Fertility and Infertility Center located in Shahid Beheshti Hospital in Kashan which is responsible for treatment, counseling infertile patients and research in all fields of obstetrics as well as gynecology. It is collaborating with other medical disciplines as well.
Currently, this center by the help of obstetricians and gynecologists, infertility specialists, urologists, andrologists, embryologists, anesthesiologists, psychologists, midwifery and nursing experts is able to serve patients' needs by performing specific techniques using ZIFT, GIFT, ICSI, IVF, IUI methods. There are essential facilities and equipment for diagnostic and therapeutic to do all activities in many specialized fields. Perinatologist physicians also provide comprehensive prenatal care and consult with a variety of pediatric and adult specialists to help mothers and their babies get the care needed during their pregnancy and beyond. In addition, the section of gynecologic oncology is part of department with clinical services. Its divisions include surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy treatments. Gynecologic oncology and cancer program are pioneering development of novel strategies for diagnosing, treating, and preventing gynecological cancers. Our gynecologist oncologists provide comprehensive and personalized care for women at elevated risk for endometrial cancer and ovarian cancer. The clinic, ward and operating room are active for prevention and treatment of gynecologic cancers.
