Addiction Studies Department

About Us

The department of addiction studies is one of thirty departments in the school of medicine established in 2012.  Addiction studies is a multidisciplinary program that provides high level education valuable for students in all disciplines, particularly those students interested in alcohol/drug prevention, treatment, careers in health care and human services. This department is active in two sections: education and research. In education part, the department trains Ph.D. students and in research part, it tries to provide university-level education valuable in a variety of disciplines such as addiction, psychopharmacology, psychiatry, psychophysiology, clinical psychology.  Its concentration is designed so that you will have all the coursework and professional experience hours completed and is committed to provide you with an understanding of various addictions and how to interact and help people who struggle with addiction.

- To create a nationwide program in substance abuse, education and training for psychologists, physicians, medical students, and health care professionals
