About Us
Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) also known as Physiatry is a branch of medicine that aims to restore and improved functional ability and quality of life to the person with disability and impairment. A physician having completed training in this field is referred to as a physiatrist. This academic department is established in April 2018 in KAUMS and involved in medical research, teaching and training at different levels (medical students, GPs, specialties and other health professionals) of basic and clinical sciences. Department provide specialty clinics in KAUMS hospitals and health centers in this region. Area of activity in these clinics are comprehensive diagnosis, medical and physical treatments, rehabilitation and prevention in all ages of patients with neuromusculoskeletal diseases and done electrodiagnosis (NCS&EMG, RST,…) tests and consultative services to other medical groups.
