Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentistry

About Us

This is one the five departments in School of  Dentistry which is in turn devided in to two Major schools of Oral and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics and Aesthetic and Restorative dentistry. With seven members currently, these departments are active in both education and research sections, aiding students throughtout their study years. The education begins early in Dental student's course of learning as one of the first departments to train them in dental anatomy and preclinical courses. Students will learn preliminary restorations of the tooth to dental materials to full mouth removable dentures and implants and laboratory procedures. 

Missions

The members of this department follow a systematic education program provided by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education of Islamic Republic of Iran and the students will be recognized as certified Doctors Of  Dental Surgery

Facilities

The department is equipped with two laboratory halls for pre-clinical and laboratory courses. A 30 dental unit clinic fully eqciuped for visiting and treatments is also the highlight of this department.

Structure of the education

The Undergraduate course of Dentistry is carried out in six years and students will begin their sepecific dental courses early in the second year with this department. through out the 5 years of education the students will accomplish many different courses with this department. The courses are a mixture of Preclinical, Practical and Theorethical lessons, which are in term evaluated with practical and written exams. The education finishes with the Master thesis.
