Kashan is one of the cities with history and ancient cultural identity. Scholars, scientists, doctors, philosophers, poets and painters who grew up in this city are among the people who not only made the name of Kashan famous but also gave Iran and the Islamic world another credit. Since ancient times, there have been various scientific assemblies and fields in this city, and even now, in every corner of the city, scholars and intellectuals in universities and higher education centers are teaching people who seek knowledge.

Kashan University of Medical Sciences and Health Care Services is one of the achievements of the first decade of the glorious Islamic revolution, which was established as a Faculty of Medical Sciences based on the approval of the Council for the Development of Medical Sciences Universities of the country in 1986. In the same year, the university practically started its activity with about 20 faculty members and more than 250 students in the fields of medicine and nursing. From that year onwards, the quality and quantity of accepted students was constantly increased and in parallel, the fields of educational activity of the university expanded so much that in 1993, it became a university and in 2013 it entered to the group of first-class universities of the country. Currently, this university covers the cities of Kashan, Aran, and Bidgol, and various and extensive health services are provided by seven vice-chancelleries of the university.
The educational campus of the university with an area of more than 200 hectares with five faculties including medicine, nursing, midwifery, health, allied medical and dentistry, self-governing campus and ten active research centers including trauma, anatomical sciences, physiology, biochemistry and nutrition in metabolic diseases and trauma nursing, sex cell production, social factors affecting health, health information technology, autoimmune diseases and infectious diseases is vast.
The number of university courses has increased significantly during the three decades of activity, so that in 2023, from 2 titles in 1986, the number of courses has increased to 54 courses, of which 12 courses are specialized clinical assistantships, 4 specialized research doctorate courses, 6 specialized educational doctorate courses, 17 master's courses, 16 professional doctorate courses, bachelor and associate courses.
Out of the total number of 3336 students covered by the university, 309 students are studying in postgraduate level, 1450 students are in professional doctorate level (medicine and dentistry) and more than 1302 students are studying in undergraduate and associate degrees.
Obtaining top ranks by students in scientific, cultural, sport olympiads and specialized board exams, comprehensive basic sciences, pre-internship, and a significant rate of acceptance in higher education levels in different academic periods, as well as holding dozens of national and international congresses are some parts of university’s honors.
